“The potential of the average person is like a huge ocean unsailed, a new continent unexplored, a world of possibilities waiting to be released and channeled toward some great good.”
-- Brian Tracy

Most people think of potential as an improvement of our ‘now’…where we are at, only at a higher level; work harder, give more.  We therefore relate to what we think is our potential inside of the constraints of what we believe is possible, this is limited by our beliefs of what we are capable of individually and also as a human being.  Potential is not a matter of working as hard as you think you can, or achieving all that you ever previously thought was possible.  One of the definitions of potential is ‘capable of being but not yet in existence’.  I like to view it as the unforeseen, unlimited access we have to an energy of creativity.  We are creative beings and can create whatever we want, whatever we dream of…it does not have to be limited by our current constructs, our NOW reality.  Given this understanding of potential, how does one access it?  I believe you cannot ever exhaust or reach your full potential as it is infinite, however you can use more of it.  Ways of accessing your potential include:

Listening to your intuition
Utilizing mind body and spirit in decision making
Dreaming and bringing those dreams into reality
Using both left and right brain thinking (visualization is very powerful)
Thinking outside the box
Expanding your idea of possibility (beyond anything you previously thought possible)
Acknowledging there are realities that exist beyond the physical/tangible

No matter who you are, what you have achieved or what you believe your talents to be, you have more potential than you can comprehend and more than you can ever develop in a lifetime.   My coaching for you is to focus on your unlimited potential, expand your idea of what’s possible, dream and play big.  Remember limited thinking produces limited results.

“Everyone has inside him a piece of good news.  The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be!  How much you can love!  What you can accomplish!  And what your potential is.”
-- Anne Frank
